AppleCare Engineering is seeking an experienced engineer who enjoys a variety of technical challenges to help maintain ongoing service supply for customers while maintaining the high quality standard Apple is known for. This role also includes defining technical strategies that ensure optimal financial and environmental efficiency of Apple service and Refurb operations. This will periodically require quick and creative solutions to ad-hoc changes in the global supply chain. This role requires communicating effectively with a wide range of partners from both technical and non-technical backgrounds. You will work closely with internal teams across product design, environmental, product operations, and AppleCare to define efficient, high quality, and environmentally sound engineering requirements.
The AppleCare Manufacturing Process/Quality Engineer will define technical strategy and drive ongoing improvements for specific product line(s) in Apple’s service module supply chain. You will join a team of engineers covering a broad range of technical disciplines across all product lines. Define technical requirements for reclaim or refurbishment of material within quality targets Document technical criteria for customer Trade-in units in line with overall sales/marketing goal Evaluate and refine technical guidelines for supply chain optimization including test coverage, cosmetic specs, repair processes, and packout procedures. Support ad-hoc material shortages as needed. Develop innovative solutions to unique problems to minimize or eliminate any delay in customer repairs.
  • BS/MS in HW/Computer engineering field
  • 5+ years experience of industrial, manufacturing, process, or quality engineering in a manufacturing or service environment
  • Exceptional focus on the customer experience
  • experienced in documenting operating procedures and technical guidance
  • Ability to work independently
  • Solution focused work ethic with a high degree of flexibility supporting multiple projects of varying complexity and priority
  • Effective communicator in both spoken and written forms; sharp interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across varied audiences
  • M.S. or PhD in Engineering or Technical degree with 7+ years of experience in a related field or industry.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,200 and $281,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
