Job Description:

Disneyland Paris features two spectacular theme parks Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World along with Disney Village and a broad portfolio of supporting infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join the Resort as Director, Design and Development. In this key role, you will be responsible for leading the planning, design, development, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital projects, including renovations, rehabilitations, and selected ground-up construction projects across the Disneyland Paris Resort.

The portfolio covers a wide variety of large-scale projects across the two theme parks, Disney Village, and supporting buildings and infrastructure for Disney-owned and managed properties. Varying in scale, complexity, and operational impact, these projects offer a unique opportunity to shape creative, functional, and sustainable design solutions within one of Europe’s leading entertainment destinations.

Reporting to the Vice President, Facilities and Operations Services, the closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure design excellence, project integrity, and seamless integration into Resort operations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead teams responsible for the planning, design development, and delivery of capital projects, ensuring alignment with creative intent, functional requirements, and stakeholder objectives
  • Oversee a broad range of projects varying in size, scope, and technical complexity across theme parks, Disney Village, and supporting facilities
  • Drive the development of integrated design solutions that balance creativity, operational requirements, delivery efficiency, and long-term performance
  • Partner closely with peer organizations to ensure alignment throughout design development and project execution
  • Provide strategic input and coordination with stakeholders for projects included in the Resort’s long-term investment planning

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams of design, development, and project professionals
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, leveraging evolving design practices and technologies
  • Build strong engagement and accountability across teams delivering complex projects in a dynamic, operational environment

Governance, Risk & Performance

  • Anticipate and proactively address project risks related to scope, design, schedules, and operational interfaces
  • Ensure strong governance through adherence to design standards, safety requirements, project management processes, and regulatory frameworks
  • Partner with internal teams and local authorities to ensure compliance and alignment with applicable codes and requirements
  • Establish clear performance indicators, operating standards, and governance frameworks to support consistent project delivery

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain close collaboration with business partners across Food Operations, Merchandise Operations, Product Integration, and other key functions
  • Drive sustained communication and alignment through regular design reviews, governance forums, and stakeholder touchpoints
  • Share best practices, expertise, and resources across the broader Disney organization

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in design and development, capital projects, or related disciplines within hospitality, entertainment, or complex operating environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing a wide variety of large-scale projects simultaneously, including multi-year programs
  • Demonstrated experience working with architects, engineers, consultants, and construction partners throughout the full design and delivery lifecycle
  • Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and lead multidisciplinary teams through complex project lifecycles
  • Strong blend of creative sensibility, strategic vision, business acumen, and technical expertise
  • Proven track record of driving quality, consistency, and collaboration across cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and creating an inclusive work environment
  • Fluent French and English
