We are looking for a highly driven and creative regional Assistant Marketing Manager to join our Disney Consumer Products APAC marketing team. This involves working collaboratively with multiple markets – Australia, Japan, Greater China, Korea and South Asia. Based in Shanghai, China and reporting to the APAC headquarters in Singapore, this role is pivotal in developing and supporting retail marketing campaigns across the region. The ideal candidate will be passionate about ideation, culturally sensitive, ability to creatively bring the Disney brands and characters stories to life and capable of managing upward while working collaboratively with global, regional and local teams. The role will be part of the team to pioneer uniquely branded Disney + Pixar + Marvel + Lucasfilm + multi-channel retail experiences, and marketing initiatives.
The objective of this role is to drive regional business growth by developing and supporting integrated marketing campaigns that align with the company goals and resonate with APAC audience. Through creative storytelling and localised initiatives, the Regional Assistant Marketing Manager will help elevate our brand presence and drive business growth across the region.
Areas of Responsibility
Key elements and required results of the role
The regional Assistant Marketing Manager will be supporting the development of retail marketing campaigns from concept, pitching and assets development. Projects will range from short term, quick turnaround tasks, to much larger projects which may take many months and have many revisions and may require marketing investment. Projects may cover pitch decks and marketing toolkits, including power point/key note presentations, product mock ups, experiential concepts, social content, marketing assets and thought starters.
1. Campaign Development & Strategic Support
-Support end-to-end marketing campaign development: from conceptualization, pitching, to creative asset production
-Collaborate closely with APAC Senior Manager to build strategic locally relevant marketing plans.
-Create and structure compelling pitch decks with strong visual storytelling and trend-based insights.
-Review global campaign assets and adapt them for APAC local markets.
2. Campaign Execution & Project Coordination
-Write creative briefs for agencies and manage asset production across retail, digital, and event channels.
-Oversee timelines, reviews, and approvals in coordination with APAC Creative, Legal, and Finance teams.
-Track regional asset delivery, manage marketing toolkits, and address market-specific requests and needs.
-Work with global teams to tailor assets and resolve delivery roadblocks.
3. Stakeholder Management
-Act as a key point of contact between the global teams, regional and local marketing teams.
-Ensure alignment with APAC and global strategies while being the cultural bridge between markets.
-Able to confidently manage expectations and communications with both direct manager and senior executives.
-Maintain proactive communication across functions to ensure clarity, efficiency, and buy-in on all deliverables.
4. Content & Copy Development
-Develop and write marketing materials including decks, campaign updates, experiential concepts, story or mood boards
-Collaborate with the APAC Creative team on concept visualizations and creative deliverables where needed.
-Edit, localise and simplify global content or assets for clearer understanding across APAC
5. Post-Campaign Reporting
-Create post-campaign summary decks at the end of each campaign
-Produce quarterly marketing highlight videos for internal stakeholders
Qualifications
Number of years experience, Qualifications and People Management experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field.
-3–5 years of relevant marketing experience, ideally in agency, FMCG, retail, or e-commerce.
-Effectively bilingual in Chinese and English—strong communication skills essential for articulating ideas, mediating across cultures, and solving problems with nuance and diplomacy.
-Passion for ideation and creative thinking—loves generating marketing ideas and developing engaging storytelling concepts.
-Experience working abroad or in an international company, with exposure to diverse cultures and regional collaboration
-Being comfortable with travelling within the region
-Up to date with current marketing trends in design, digital, consumer products, and brand experiences
-Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Keynote—able to craft clear, well-designed presentations that support storytelling and strategy.
-Excellent organizational and project management skills, keen eye for detail, with the ability to multitask and manage tight timelines.
-Must be a self motivated individual with a strong initiative and the ability to work independently in a different country from the reporting manager.
-Confident communicator and presenter, capable of influencing up and across the organization, including senior executives.
-Collaborative, solution-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.
-Familiarity with global marketing operations, agency processes, and APAC cultural nuances is a strong plus.
-Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus.
