About the Role & Team

At Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology, the Live Orchestration Department is at the heart of our streaming media operations. Our agile and responsive teams ensure that Disney’s live and on-demand video products are delivered to audiences across the globe with seamless precision. Supporting a vast portfolio of high-profile content, the department provides 24/7 oversight across both linear and event-based programming.

From system health monitoring to incident management and hands-on orchestration of media workflows, our technicians keep our content flowing — ensuring the exceptional quality and reliability that Disney is known for. The team operates with speed, focus, and a deep technical understanding of both our proprietary platforms and the evolving digital media landscape.

A few reasons why we think you’ll love working here:

  • Purposeful Impact: Help deliver world-class streaming experiences to millions of viewers, supporting iconic brands and events.

  • Collaboration: Be part of a close-knit operations team that works in sync with content, engineering, and support partners across the business.

  • Development: Learn, grow, and gain exposure to the latest in streaming media technology and broadcast operations.

About the Role

As a Streaming Media Assistant, you will play a key role in the daily delivery and quality assurance of Disney’s live and on-demand media offerings. Supporting our media orchestration operations, you will execute essential workflows using proprietary software, monitor live streams, and assist in the resolution of technical issues during high-priority events.

This is a hands-on operational role suited to individuals with a keen eye for detail, a passion for technology, and the ability to remain calm and proactive under pressure.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for:

  • Executing defined operational workflows to ensure the quality and availability of live content streams.

  • Following and documenting standard operating procedures, while identifying and escalating issues when necessary.

  • Monitoring system health and platform status, taking action to resolve or escalate incidents during live events and VOD distribution.

  • Troubleshooting workflow interruptions, ensuring swift and accurate resolution.

  • Supporting live broadcasts and events by orchestrating media using internal tools and systems.

  • Collaborating closely with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless content delivery.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Strong understanding of computers, applications, and digital platforms.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow processes precisely.

  • Clear and confident communication skills – both verbal and written.

  • Well-organised and capable of multitasking in high-pressure environments.

  • A fast learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and technologies.

  • Minimum education: GCSEs or equivalent (high school diploma level).

Preferred Qualifications (although not required)

  • 1–2 years of experience in a relevant technical or digital media environment.

  • A solid understanding of streaming media, particularly HTTP Live Streaming (HLS).

  • Previous experience working with broadcast or streaming operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical workflows effectively.

  • A strong team player with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude.

Additional Information

  • This is an operational role based within a 24/7 environment, and shift-based availability will be required.

  • Some on-call or extended-hour work may be necessary to support major events or business-critical activity.

  • You will receive training on internal tools and systems, with ongoing support for professional development.

The Walt Disney Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We strive to be a diverse workforce that is representative of our audiences, and where all can thrive and belong. Disney is committed to forming a team that includes and respects a variety of voices, identities, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
