Overview
Supervises, trains, and assigns work within the Corporate Payroll team. Reviews corporate payroll processing and tax filings, ensuring the timely remittance of taxes due.
Responsibilities
- Supervises, directs, and develops assigned personnel, to ensure team and individual expectations are achieved. Responsible for priority setting and hiring. .Ensures staff is trained in departmental processes and procedures to meet goals and expectations.
- Oversees compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and wage laws. Oversees regulations and timely filing and payment of employee- and employer-related taxes to ensure timely deposits and avoid tax penalties. Oversees annual tax payments more than $200 million.
- Reviews team procedures to ensure resources are up to date, accurate and in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls. Analyzes resources to provide recommendations for improvements to Corporate Payroll Manager.
- Adheres to the performance management philosophy of Set, Inspect, and Respond and partners with Human Resources to ensure a consistent approach to managing employee performance.
- Responds to escalated employee and government issues to ensure adherence to company policy and our standards of customer service. Maintains confidentiality of employee information.
- Participates or leads on project teams to support department and company sponsored initiatives. Provides necessary feedback and recommendations to ensure payroll controls are met.
- Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position’s functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business - Preferred
- 2 years of experience in Leadership experience.
- 5 years of experience in Related field.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $69,600 to $109,300 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the Talent Acquisition & Onboarding position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
