Overview

The Senior Business Manager is the dedicated owner of the Consumer Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) organization’s people experience, responsible for how the team is onboarded, engaged, developed, and connected through leadership rhythms. The role treats culture and learning as business critical operating systems, applying the same discipline used to run core business rhythms: clear strategy, durable operating models, and consistent, high-quality execution. Critical to this role is the translation of cultural priorities into structured programs with measurable outcomes, ensuring onboarding is effective, engagement is intentional, learning is embedded into the flow of work, and leadership communications focused on these areas create clarity, energy, and connection across the organization.

This role sits within the Consumer CMO Chief of Staff team and operates as a close extension of the executive office. Success depends on tight partnership with Communications, Human Resources (HR), and People partners, and consistent collaboration with leadership to deliver a cohesive, high impact employee experience.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.

  • Employee Signals & Organizational Health: Own the listening and follow through system that turns employee sentiment into action. Drive participation, synthesize insights for leaders, and orchestrate clear action plans with measurable follow through, learning from others to build on what works and testing new ideas.
  • Training & Development (Learning Culture): Embed learning into the operating rhythm of the organization. Create intentional learning experiences such as curated pathways, learning days, and targeted skill building moments aligned to business priorities and supported by operational execution.
  • AI Adoption: Drive end-to-end programmatic adoption of AI across the organization by building fluency, identifying high-value use cases, and scaling integration into core marketing workflows. Embed continuous learning into the operating rhythm through curated pathways, learning days, and targeted skill-building moments that connect AI capability development to business priorities.
  • All Hands & Town Halls (Org Wide Rhythms): Plan and run recurring leadership forums that create clarity, reinforce priorities, and strengthen connection. Partner closely with communications to ensure narrative, content, and run of show are integrated and effective.
  • Early in Career & Internship Programs: Own the end to end experience for early in career talent and interns, including onboarding, learning moments, leadership access, and operational delivery across the full lifecycle.
  • New Hire Onboarding: Design and run a consistent onboarding experience that enables new hires to integrate quickly and confidently. This includes setting clear milestones, and ensuring new teammates have the context, connections, and learning needed to succeed.
