US citizenship is required for this role due to the sensitive nature of our government customer engagements.

Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and manage secure Microsoft services in cloud and hybrid environments with a focus on reliability, security, and compliance.
- Build scalable backend systems (distributed systems, microservices) with seamless data integration and well-defined contracts and SLAs.
- Design for high availability, scalability, robustness, and observability; drive SLOs, error budgets, and telemetry-first engineering.
- Build and deploy services to Azure using modern CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing practices.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, and site reliability teams to meet regulatory and customer requirements for government and regulated industries.
- Prototype, experiment, and evaluate alternative architectures and technologies; make data-driven tradeoffs.
- Uphold and evolve engineering best practices (code quality, design reviews, testing, operational excellence).
- Mentor and coach engineers; provide technical leadership across team boundaries.
Participate in service ownership (e.g., on-call rotations) to ensure high service quality and rapid incident response. - Embody our culture and values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Candidates must have an active TS Top-Secret Security Clearance e. This role will require candidates to maintain the TS clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States that does not now or in the future require employer sponsorship.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience building and releasing web services.
Show experience in driving large strategic and complex or ambiguous projects that span organizations. - Passion for delivering customer impact and value.
- Experience building and deploying infrastructure using Microsoft Azure technology or AWS.
- Experience supporting government or regulated industries (security, compliance, and audit readiness).
#Purview
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
