Within Azure Data, the Messaging and Real-Time Analytics team delivers platforms that help customers transform raw, high-volume, real-time signals into actionable intelligence. We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer Manager to lead one of our Stream Analytics backend teams. This team owns the Azure Stream Analytics input/output adapters, a critical component that powers both Azure Stream Analytics, a fully managed, real-time analytics service, and Eventstream in Microsoft Fabric, the unified, next-generation real-time intelligence experience. Together, these technologies enable seamless data movement and processing, making real-time insights accessible across the Fabric ecosystem and beyond.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years people management experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience developing high scale, distributed systems on a cloud platform.
- 3+ years of mentoring and coaching other software engineers.
- Familiarity with real time data streaming or database technologies like Azure Stream Analytics, Kafka,
Flink or SQL. - Good communication, collaboration, and planning skills with demonstrated commitment to the success
of others. - Desire to manage diverse, inclusive, and collaborative software teams.
- Proficient design, implementation, and communication skills.
Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
