Overview
The Azure High Performance Computing & Artificial Intelligence (HPC & AI) compute platform team defines and delivers the hardware roadmap, software, and services that enable our users to run technical computing workloads in Azure – extreme scale AI training and inference including large language models, traditional HPC modelling and simulations, remote visualization, and immersive gaming experiences. We are responsible for providing Azure customers with supercomputer-class capabilities to accelerate their research, drive competitive differentiation, and finding answers to some of the most difficult questions of science and industry.
We are looking for a Product Manager II who has a proven track record working with complex and distributed engineering systems that are used in operating large-scale cloud solutions. This role requires a candidate with an ability to deliver technical solutions, model Microsoft values and support cross-organization programs to make them successful.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience with modern cloud infrastructure concepts and design techniques
- 1+ years of experience delivering software features in a fast paced online services environment
- 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
- General understanding of cloud infrastructure with prior experience in managing complex cloud system internals and telemetry systems, configuration management databases or incident management tools
- Exposure to artificial intelligence agent frameworks, large language model-based tools, or intelligent automation platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and partnership skills across a diverse set of audiences and stakeholders.
- A growth-mindset that enables creativity in thinking, analytical skills, an ability to deal with ambiguity, management of changing priorities, consistency in learning from others and passion for solving complex problems with engineering solutions that optimize both the product and customer experience.
Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities
- Work with engineering and operations teams to identify manual processes and help define automation opportunities.
- Use operational data and telemetry to identify trends, inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Define use cases, data requirements and integration strategies for AI agents that assist in automated workflows.
- Facilitate communication between hardware, software and operations teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
- Help manage timelines, track deliverables and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
- A self-starter with proven track record of managing complex program/project to successful completion, working across a large set of cross-functional stakeholders.
- Candidate must be coachable and a team player.
