About the job
Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
We are seeking Security Engineers to help shape the future of the security and cyber threat intelligence (CTI) industry. You will act as a core domain expert and technical builder on the Applied Intelligence team, operating with the speed and autonomy of a startup.
Your primary differentiator is your security knowledge combined with an AI-first, builder mindset. You won't just be advising on or performing traditional security tasks, you will use your expertise to directly build, automate, and expand the platforms that redefine those tasks entirely. As a team, we rally around a core focus to deliver major proofs-of-concept. Concurrently, you will drive independent experiments and build smaller Proof of Concepts (POCs) to constantly inject new ideas into the group.
While we partner with multiple internal and product teams and leverage their existing infrastructure, you are the one building, what is needed to deliver innovation on the frontier. Our goal is to assemble a team with shared, holistic cybersecurity expertise, where your specific domain knowledge acts as the crucial differentiator that powers the systems you engineer.Part of Google Cloud, Mandiant is a recognized leader in dynamic cyber defense, threat intelligence and incident response services. Mandiant's cybersecurity expertise has earned the trust of security professionals and company executives around the world. Our unique combination of renowned frontline experience responding to some of the most complex breaches, nation-state grade threat intelligence, machine intelligence, and the industry's best security validation ensures that Mandiant knows more about today's advanced threats than anyone.Responsibilities
- Use your knowledge of security workflows to engineer platforms and automated AI solutions that expand those capabilities globally.
- Write code and collaboratively deliver core POCs as a team. Concurrently, you will independently experiment and build smaller POCs, generating original approaches to address problems, testing hypotheses, and bringing fresh ideas to the broader team.
- Partner closely with multiple Product Management and Engineering teams, leveraging their existing infrastructure to accelerate your work. You are empowered to independently build whatever is needed to deliver innovation on the frontier—acting as a performance multiplier to solve problems at a velocity neither group could achieve alone.
- Learn and leverage the absolute latest AI capabilities to pioneer novel workflows for the most complex cybersecurity challenges.
