Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Music technology, Acoustics, a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a audio/speaker field.
  • Experience with standard audio measurement tools (e.g., sound check, audio precision, and audition).
  • Experience with consumer hardware and loudspeakers and with music and media tuning, digital filter design, bass enhancement algorithms, spatial sound, and speaker arrays.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Acoustics, or related disciplines.
  • 9 years of experience with consumer hardware.
  • Experience with acoustics and audio electrical engineering architecture.
  • Experience with subjective and objective audio quality assessment.
  • Experience with audio simulation and signal analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Klippel Sim).
  • Passion for audio playback applications while managing conflicting system requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end outcome for the complete audio playback system solution on home devices (e.g., smart speaker, smart display, doorbell, camera), including defining, tuning, validation, and debugging.
  • Lead the analysis, evaluation, and benchmarking of audio enhancement algorithms using objective and subjective methods. Drive alignment and technical coordination with acoustic engineers on loudspeaker architecture and placement on devices.
  • Collaborate with internal developers, Joint Development Manufacturer (JDM) partners, external vendors to integrate and refine systems to meet next-generation product requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve complex system challenges and deliver audio playback performance.
  • Contribute strategically to the product roadmap by investigating new technologies and delivering innovative features.
