Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 5 years of experience with detection and response, security monitoring or infrastructure security assessments.
  
• 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
  
• 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
  
• 1 year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with incident response, anomaly detection, or counter-abuse operations/tooling.
  
• Experience implementing or contributing to security standards and requirements.
  
• Experience leading junior engineers through frequent sync-ups, technical guidance, coaching.
  
• Experience with distributed data pipelines and systems.
  
• Experience working with distributed teams in non-optimal time zone differences as well as with security engineers in infrastructure security areas.
  
  

About the job

In this role, you will have opportunities to define and develop solutions in areas such as detection and response (e.g., discovery, signal pipeline technologies), counter abuse, asset discovery/management, and security process automation. You will apply your security expertise with fundamental software development skills to provide consultations on design decisions, and propose solutions for the team to implement. You will participate in reviews for the wider product area and contribute to software development efforts (e.g., prototyping, changes etc.) while leading junior engineers. You will build a helpful system of devices and services with the ultimate security offering, without compromising usability.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Conduct reviews of infrastructure and service designs through the lens of information security.
  
• Produce software design proposals for the teams and scope the level of efforts to set time bounded goals for teams to agree on and subsequently implement.
• Review and provide comments on design documents and code to make sure that the team is producing secure solutions per the intended design and goal.
  
• Work alongside the team by contributing to software development efforts.
  
• Work with the leads to gain an understanding of the future roadmap to help prioritize the team projects, considering resources, technical issues and other risk factors. Participate in team planning quarterly and yearly to set the goals for the team. Present and pitch ideas, showcase accomplishments to the executive leadership.
