As an Associate Quality Engineer in Disney Experiences Worldwide Safety Assurance team, you will provide technical guidance to ensure attractions, transportation systems, and/or entertainment shows at the Walt Disney World Resort are aligned with applicable industry standards, codes, regulations, and internal Disney standards. The Associate Quality Engineer will perform audits, inspections, and support the development of procedures and documentation of new and/or refurbished attractions, transportation systems, and entertainment shows to ensure sustainable safe experiences and environments for our Guest and Cast.
This position will report to the Senior Manager-Quality Engineer.
This will be an on-site position located in Orlando, FL.
What You Will Do
Review and assess alignment of requirements between Manufacturer’s Requirements, Operating Guides, Job Plans, and maintenance tasks for attractions.
Assist in the development of compliance-related process and procedures.
Assist in performing required inspections, audits, and related efforts to support the annual Florida State affidavit program for assigned registered attractions.
Participate in design reviews for modifications to attractions, transportation systems, and/or entertainment shows to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
Provide general Quality Engineering support to internal customers such as Engineering, Engineering Services/Maintenance, Central Shops, Operations, and others as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience in engineering; including design, installation and commissioning of complex systems that meet regulatory and industry standards.
Proven knowledge of MS Office; Familiarity with engineering drawings.
Ability to manage, balance, and prioritize projects.
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present sophisticated data in concise and straight forward presentations.
Demonstrated strong teamwork skills.
Ability to work after hours and off-shift hours as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with the amusement park industry
Familiarity with industry, regulatory, compliance standards and processes.
Engineer in Training (EIT), or equivalent state certification/license.
Proven knowledge of Maximo.
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required.
