Are you a deal-driven Vice President ready to lead J.P. Morgan’s M&A and partnership growth?
As a Vice President on our Corporate Development & Partnerships team, you will drive Global Banking’s inorganic growth by originating, evaluating and executing high-impact acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships across Global Investment Banking, Global Corporate Banking, and Commercial Banking.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic partnerships and corporate development initiatives – including acquisitions and investments - that align with the bank’s growth objectives, from diligence through execution and integration.
- Drive market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential partners, including within the fintech ecosystem, and develop a point of view on where to play.
- Own financial and strategic analyses (e.g., business cases, valuation support, synergy assessment, and risk/mitigant articulation) to inform investment decisions
- Build and own relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., product, technology, controls, legal, operations, and senior leadership) and external counterparties as appropriate
- Lead partnership development, including contribution to commercial terms, deal structuring, and negotiation support, in alignment with strategic objectives and applicable policies and controls.
- Own monitoring and reporting on the performance of partnerships, acquisitions, and investments; synthesize insights and recommend actions to improve outcomes.
- Prepare and deliver materials and presentations for senior stakeholders, including investment committee papers and decision memos
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate development, fintech, strategy, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end transaction execution (e.g., M&A, minority investments, partnerships, and/or capital markets-related transactions).
- Advanced financial analysis and modeling skills; ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable recommendations and plans for senior audiences.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving approach; ability to assess competitive landscapes, identify emerging opportunities, and form and defend an independent view.
- Proven senior stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and developing junior talent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to own and prioritize multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience with partnership models and/or fintech ecosystem coverage.
- Prior experience developing investment cases, including assessment of revenue opportunities, implementation considerations, and risk management.
