Join the JPMorganChase Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) for an exciting opportunity to provide financial and strategic analysis, oversight, and coordination of budgeting and forecasting. Our Finance & Business Management (F&BM) teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including financial control, forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of regular management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities, and advising the line of business (LOB) on how to increase profitability and efficiencies, largely centered around headcount.

As an Associate Finance Manager in the Client Onboarding & Service (COS) organization, you will analyze, prepare, and reconcile financial and headcount data as well as prepare reports, while always thinking of and devising ways to streamline and minimize cycle times through automated applications and process improvement. You will also help develop recommendations effecting business procedures and operations and maintain financial and reporting systems. In addition, you will assist the department and other team members with special projects or components of other projects as needed.

Job responsibilities

  • Maintain detailed headcount tracking to ensure accurate Position Management and Requisition approvals and reconciliation against current budget and outlook
  • Partner with COS leadership and F&BM teams to generate monthly, annual, and multi-year forecast headcount and direct expenses
  • Prepare efficiency reporting, analytics and strategy, including, but not limited to, location strategy, span of control, reporting and analytics
  • Develop and track performance metrics, create presentations, and generally provide financial analysis on a variety of topics to senior management
  • Perform variance analysis to understand the key drivers of the results and present commentary to senior managers, explaining changes from prior forecasts and budgets
  • Help design new reports and dashboards to efficiently deliver the financial results to senior management
  • Enhance controls and streamline processes, introducing automation where possible

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of work experience in Accounting, Finance, Planning & Analysis, Business Management, or a related field
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail and solid work ethic
  • Inquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
  • Ability to create ad hoc reporting for senior management
  • Proven track record for executing on special projects and assignments with often little lead time or information
  • Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner for the Business and F&BM teams
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management and prioritization skills, and ability to able to thrive under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Knowledge of or experience with Paragon, Alteryx, BI tools, databases, and SQL Querying is a plus
