Job summary
As a Merchant Risk Credit Strategy Vice President in the Merchant Services Credit Risk team, you will lead strategic initiatives and project management efforts to enhance credit risk processes and controls. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive process improvements, and ensure strong oversight and compliance. Together, we will champion innovation, support technology initiatives, and foster a culture of partnership and continuous improvement. This role empowers you to influence change and make a meaningful difference in how we manage risk.

Job responsibilities

  • Partner with the Merchant Services credit risk management team to achieve business priorities and objectives
  • Lead and coordinate merchant services credit risk initiatives focused on process improvement and automation
  • Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance risk management and controls
  • Monitor and oversee credit processes, data quality, and remediation efforts
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for merchant services credit risk in technology projects and working groups
  • Support change management by facilitating adoption of new processes, technologies, and strategies
  • Interpret and apply policy requirements and procedures relevant to merchant services credit risk
  • Manage merchant services credit risk documentation, ensuring strong governance and effective controls
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Synthesize and summarize complex data to support decision making
  • Identify and address gaps in controls, performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in a commercial or investment bank credit or banking role
  • Experience in audit, control, operations, or program management roles with a record of high performance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level communication
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, able to manage competing priorities
  • High initiative, self-direction, and ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups and regions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to synthesize complex data
  • Experience in control and process oversight, including gap identification and control management
  • Understanding of data management and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Office, SharePoint, and PowerPoint

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in credit risk approvals, underwriting, and administration
  • Knowledge of credit risk policies, procedures, and standards
  • Project Management Professional certification
