Utility Computing (UC)
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, and verification of components leveraging standard software engineering methodologies
- Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
- Participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
- Work with other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud
- Work on overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
- Mentor other engineers, define our technical culture, and help to build a fast-growing team

About the team
Amazon Redshift is a rapidly growing, fast, fully managed, petabyte-scale data warehouse service in the cloud. It enables customers to dramatically increase their query performance when analyzing virtually any size data set using the same SQL-based business intelligence tools they use today. Autonomics, Performance, Storage, Transaction Processing, and High Availability are some of the key areas of focus of the Data Management team.
