Amazon Devices — the team behind the best-selling Amazon Echo, Kindle E-Reader, Fire Tablet, Fire TV, and Home Security product lines — is seeking a motivated leader who is ready to take the next career step, and help lead and grow a fast-paced digital marketing operations team in a rapidly evolving new area. Initially, this leader will quickly help define a long term operations strategy including which additional tasks and responsibilities the team should own and automate.
Once defined, this role will be responsible for developing the new processes, tools and infrastructure needed to own additional marketing operational responsibilities, as well as own hiring, training, reporting, and continuous improvement of the processes to meet operational excellence and growth goals.
The ideal candidate will be a top tier people leader, contain strong operational improvement experience, have an eye for bar raising marketing content and CX, illustrate exemplary ownership, and is motivated to think big about the short, medium, and long term potential of the team.


Key job responsibilities
* Manage a team of merchandisers that will build standard onsite campaigns and detail pages for Devices’ Events, homepage marketing campaigns, new product launches, evergreen campaigns, and other marketing initiatives that arise.
*Continually evolve team scope by identifying new marketing tasks this team could own, and build the infrastructure to execute perfectly.
* Become an expert on marketing build tasks so that you can support execution as needed and help team troubleshoot when they encounter issues.
* Serve as the key point of contact in Costa Rica to manage in-country team logistics — such as setting up time sheets and planning around local holidays — and communicating with management about them as needed.
* Proactively offer recommendations to strengthen MBA’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) as the team develops expertise in different marketing tasks.
* Manage work back schedules to ensure that all deliverables are met according to the timelines required, and escalate blockers or capacity bottlenecks to management as they appear.
* Report to leadership on team performance, and build plans to continuously improve KPIs.
* Own retrospectives and deep dives focused on improving marketing build processes.
* Manage team members’ performance, including cultivating superpowers and coaching through growth areas.


About the team
The Devices Marketing Builders and Automation team (MBA) is the marketing operations Center of Excellence for Amazon Devices. We are the builders of the online customer-facing content for our 20 product lines and the first line of defense against defects and errors across our product detail pages in the US, Mexico, and Canada. We strive to deliver a high CX by executing perfectly, while creating ongoing scale for Devices through continuous process improvement and automation.
