The EMEA Data Center Construction team is looking for a Construction Manager with a strong bias in Health and Safety to work with our EMEA Regional Safety Lead, Construction Managers to maintain and improve safety across all of our construction projects.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Construction Manager with a strong bias in Health and Safety to help develop Health and Safety processes and Global Health and Safety Information from our Global Health and Safety General Minimum Requirement (GMRs) standards throughout our data centres builds across EMEA.
If you have experience in successfully driving construction Health and Safety, implementing improvement programs and standards, reviewing safety plans and all other associated safety documents, working in the construction infrastructure environment, then this could be your role!
Key job responsibilities
Implement, review and drive construction health and safety by assessing our General Contractors safety plans against AWS GMRs / safety standards and oversee and measure their subsequent adherence to their safety plan.
• Develop and implement, AWS GMRs, policies, procedures.
• Maintain a standardized review process for construction projects.
• Oversee and develop Health and Safety improvement strategies across all regions
• Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of all Health and Safety activities is maintained.
• Contribute to the development of performance dashboards and KPIs to measure program effectiveness. Evaluate and monitor the Health and Safety performance of suppliers and contractors ensuring they meet the required standards
• Plan and conduct internal audits of safety management on site to ensure compliance and identify areas of improvement
• Serve as the primary point of contact for safety matters with CMs, general contractors, safety engineers and partner teams.
• Build and maintain strategic vendor relationships, including developing vendor KPIs and performance metrics.
• Drive process improvements through data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
• Lead regular executive updates and cross-functional team communication.
• Attend contractor award Kick-off meetings to ensure mutual understanding of the Health and Safety program.
• You will insist on the highest standards from self and others and drive accountability for results, leading externals and, potentially, internals, including coaching.
